THE "NORMAL" CHRISTIAN BIRTH

Salvation

One of the unique beliefs of Christianity is that when a person is initiated into the Christian faith, they just don’t decide to follow a person’s teachings, but are actually born “anew” or “again.” Something happens to them and they are (somehow and in some way) changed. They are new “creatures.” We’ll identify the four steps of a Christian’s “birth” and focus in on what we are being born into – “salvation.” This message lays the foundation for the following messages where we will look at each of the four steps in depth.

Repent

We are looking at the first of four “steps” of what we call a “normal” Christian birth. This is the step of repentance. We’ll do a deep dive and explore what it takes to repent fully. It’s more than you might think. But once you see what it takes, you’ll say, “Well, that makes sense.”

Believe

How can a person become a Christian? What does it really be to be ‘born again?’ We are looking at these questions and providing an answer from the bible. So far we’ve looked at what we are born again into, and the first step of repentance. This week we look at the second step of ‘believing’. This is perhaps the most important step, for it is involved in all others. Join us to learn the five dimensions of faith, of believing in Christ Jesus.

Be Baptized

When a person becomes a Christian, they usually get baptized. But what is baptism all about? Why is it important? Why do Christians get baptized as a part of the new birth? Join us for these answers and more as we look at what it baptism is all about.

Receive The Holy Spirit

We are concluding our series on the Normal Christian Birth. We want to look at the last element of a this birth, the receiving of the Holy Spirit. This completes the “process” so that we can live in the power of the Spirit. Join us to learn about why receiving the spirit is so important to our becoming a believer.
