PSALM 23

I SHALL NOT WANT

Psalm 23 Week 1

This well-known Psalm describes God as our shepherd. We may not connect very well to this picture of God…after all, very few of us know much about sheep, much less are shepherds. But many do connect with the psalm itself. And behind it’s words is a picture rich with meaning to help us learn more about God and what He does for His sheep. This series is for those who realize they need someone to help them do life – just as sheep need a shepherd

Psalm 23 Week 2

The Lord is my shepherd and we presides over me; His loving ownership and expert management of my life testify to His goodness. We need to learn how to yield to the Good Shepherd, and not resist or insist on doing life our own way. Sheep who surrender to the shepherd’s care find rest and fulfillment in life.

Psalm 23 Week 3

In our next installment of our Psalm 23 series, we learn more about our Good Shepherd Jesus, and how He give us His presence and His protection. We discover some reasons why He takes us through “valleys” in life, and see how God’s Word and the Holy Spirit comfort us in those valleys. If you’re in a valley right now you will find this message helpful.

Psalm 23 Week 4

In our devotional series on Psalm 23, this week we reflect on the goodness and mercy following me and promise of dwelling with the Lord forever. As David writes from the a sheep’s point of view, he pictures them as having the ability to project into the future, and the wonderful life that comes in dwelling with the shepherd all the days of its life. This is because the sheep is the shepherd’s treasured possession. So many people are hungry, thirsty, tormented and weak because they don’t belong to the Good Shepherd and therefore, experience goodness and mercy following them.
