God Never Said That, Week 1
We love offering little nuggets of advice, support, or sympathy. They come in hand when we want people to feel better. But what if the guidance we’re giving or receiving just isn’t true? What if God Didn’t Say That? Sunday we begin a new series during which we will explore some of the cultural misbeliefs held many people…including Christians! We’re going to start off with the idea that above all else.
God Never Said That, Week 2
We love offering little nuggets of advice, support, or sympathy. They come in handy when we want people to feel better. Ever have someone say “When God closes a door, He opens a window”…and you think, “Yeah, right!” What if the guidance we’re receiving (or giving) just isn’t true? What if God Never Said That? In this series we’re exploring some of the cultural misbeliefs held many people…including Christians! Sunday we will take a look at when people say “God will never give you more than you can handle!”
God Never Said That, Week 3
There are a lot of misbeliefs floating around as sayings in our culture. They come in handy as little nuggets of advice, support, or sympathy when we want people to feel better. One of those is “It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as you don’t hurt anyone.” But God Never Said That! Of course no matter what you do, God still loves you. God doesn’t love you because of what you do. He loves you because of who He is.
God Never Said That, Week 4
There are a lot of misbeliefs floating around as sayings in our culture. They sometimes are used as advice, sometimes as justification for things we want to do, and sometimes they just sound good. Our last misbelief is “It doesn’t matter what you believe, as long as you are sincere.” But God Never Said That! Of course, no matter what you believe, God still loves you. But beliefs need to be tied to something that is true to reality.
