7 CHURCHES OF REVELATION
7 Churches Week 1
For eight weeks we will look at what Jesus says to each of the churches. This week we will look at an introduction to the book of Revelation and why these seven churches were special enough to motivate Jesus to send them a letter. These churches also give us a picture of what can happen to churches, how some become ineffective and even die, while others even thrive under persecution.
7 Churches Week 2
This Sunday we're in week 2 looking at the letters of Jesus to the 7 Churches of Revelation. For eight weeks we will look at what Jesus says to each of the churches. This week we will look at the Letter to Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7) and how they had abandoned the love they had at first.
7 Churches Week 3
This Sunday we're in week 3 looking at the letters of Jesus to the 7 Churches of Revelation. For eight weeks we will look at what Jesus says to each of the churches. This week we will look at the Letter to Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11) and how they remained rich in faith though they were Afflicted, crushed, persecuted, tested.
7 Churches Week 4
Sunday we continue in our series on the 7 Churches of Revelation. The Church in the city of Pergamum also had within it the Throne of Satan. This caused great trouble for the church. We can learn from their experience.
7 Churches Week 5
As we look at each of the letters Jesus wrote to the churches in Asia Minor, this week we will look at church in Thyatira. Since this church was close to Satan’s throne, like the church in Pergamum, was being attacked from the inside by immorality and idolatry. But the cause is different. Come learn what was going on and how we can guard against such a problem.
7 Churches Week 6
This week we will look at church in Sardis. It had a reputation of being alive – large in size, many activities – probably the “in” church. But Jesus said they were dead. Size and activity isn’t what matters – what matters is whether the Holy Spirit is present and the people are living faithfully! Like Thyatira, Sardis was also close to Satan’s throne, and many in the church have “soiled clothes.”
7 Churches Week 7
This week we will look at church in Philadelphia. It was a small church that gave their hearts and lives to Jesus. They lived for Him. Lived on the mission Jesus gave His church - and Jesus commended them. Come learn what was going on and what Jesus says to a little church on a great mission.
7 Churches Week 8
We come to the final week of this series and we will look at a church that Satan didn’t (need to) bother and therefore, this church was not under any kind of overt persecution! And yet Jesus still writes them a letter. Why? The reason is interesting and very applicable to our American culture. Join us Sunday to see what Jesus said to them and through them to us in our generation.
